Achieving Dog Friendly Certification: Enhancing Comfort and Reducing Stress for Canine Companions

Words by Faith

I am proud to announce that Royston Veterinary Centre has been recognised with the prestigious Dog Friendly Certification!

This exciting initiative is the collaborative result of the Dogs Trust and the British Veterinary Behaviour Association. The purpose of the Dog Friendly Clinic Scheme is to significantly reduce the stress levels of dogs (and owners!) in veterinary environments and to enhance their comfort through comprehensive education and systematic moderation.

As a practice that prides itself on being dog-friendly, we make a consistent and sincere effort to ensure that our clinic is a warm and welcoming haven for your beloved canine companions. Our approach involves the use of not just low-stress handling techniques to minimise any potential discomfort or fear, but also a range of environmental aids. The primary objective of these efforts is to significantly improve both your experience and that of your pet during each and every one of your visits to our practice.

One of the key aspects of the dog-friendly scheme is the encouragement of the appointment of a dedicated dog-friendly advocate within our team. This individual is assigned a crucial role within the practice, consistently championing the welfare and comfort of our canine companions. Through education and awareness they encourage everyone to adopt practices that are friendlier and more accommodating towards dogs.
